Privacy Policy for Virtual LU Card

1. Introduction
   Lingnan University ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Virtual LU Card application handles user data, system permissions, and privacy.
2. Data Collection and Usage
   The Virtual LU Card application is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or sell personal identifiers or personal user data.
   
   • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE): The app utilizes BLE to allow your device to communicate with compatible smart card readers.
   • Near Field Communication (NFC): On Android devices, NFC is used to communicate with smart card readers at a distance of 4 cm or less.
   • Location Data: Location permissions are required by the Android OS exclusively to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. Location data is processed locally on your device solely for positioning and access control. No user location data is collected, logged, stored, or transmitted to any server.
   
   
   
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
   We do not share, sell, trade, or rent any personal or device data to third parties. All hardware communication (BLE/NFC) occurs locally between your mobile device and the reader terminal.
4. Data Security & Retention
   Because we do not store personal data or location history on external servers, there is no remote retention of your operational data.
5. User Rights and Deletion
   You can revoke location, Bluetooth, or NFC permissions at any time through your mobile device’s system settings. Uninstalling the app completely removes all local app settings from your device.
